My search for a unique art style has been going on since I arrived here on DeviantArt (2002).  The search has been evasive, though I am comfortable with my line art, I absolutely hate, hate the way I color.   I think I color retarded, in color composition and shading/highlighting.  So I think I'm going to work more on my line art and just step back for awhile when it comes to color.  Most of my drawings are going to have base colors from now on.  However I will still expirement with colors, maybe it'll click one day.  T.T

gotta do what you can to grow as an artist until you are content with your skill.

I think you have always been too hard on yourself.

I can't bring up anything negative, your colouring seems appropriate for your goofy manga style.
Goofy... in a good way, it's awesome.

There have been really incredible pieces that don't even HAVE color, so I think this is a really cool idea :3

I'm not much into colour anyway myself. Black and white and simple sketches appeal to me more because they're boiled. Colour makes my eyes and brain work harder. >.<;;

You don't suck at coloring. Your art style is quite unique. But everyone has room for improvement.
Do what I did when I stopped coloring.. maybe it'll help
Do a very simple picture from a coloring book or draw it yourself. And get pastel Chalks. Using those actually improved my coloring style. The reason is:
With pastel chalks you're not supposed to touch the chalk to the paper/canvas. It's supposed to be applied via QTip and Cotton Balls. THe contrast difference from where you applied it to where you drag it makes you see where lighting and different colors should be applied for a different feel.
I know it helped me a lot so I thought maybe you could try it. ^.^

Finding a style is developing from reality. Draw things in a realistic form, with proper proportions and then begin to experiment. Large hands tend to make characters look dopey, sharp edges make a character make them look menacing. Style isn't specifically like "am I an anime artist? or am I an american artist." Because inside of those "genres" are so many variations. Focus on solid forms before delving into a search for style, because "style is only an excuse for lack of knowledge."

Apparently my 3 classes of figure drawing aren't making themselves clear in my artwork. T_T
Thanks for pointing out that I have a lack of knowledge. .__>
